Foster Residence, Bozeman, Montana

This residence was designed for a woman and her husband who formerly ran an antique dealership in downtown Bozeman. It was built in a subdivision they are developing known locally as the "Old River Farm". Though filled with eclectic elements drawing on a variety of iconic historic Montana form, the finished building satisfied the image requirements of the client, who, after moving out of one of Bozeman's Victorian mansions, are now in their "farmhouse phase".

It's probably not possible to explain the rationale for the plan without being fully aware of the family's lifestyle, and the large and diverse assortment of antiques meant to be showcased in this house. Incorporating those antiques, including furniture, stained glass, columns and a whole variety of other materials meant reviewing and inventorying the contents of three storage units. Among the vital statistics is over 5,500 s.f. of interior floor space
