Green Mountain Camp

The Green Mountain Camp was built on land that had been in the owner's family for a long time. Though born and raised in the Bozeman area, the client was working out-of-state. His immediate intention was to use Green Mountain Camp as a family vacation retreat in the near term, and retire here in the long term.

The camp consists of a main lodge (the family's residence), a salvaged log cabin re-stacked on the site as guest quarters, and a garage and shop. The buildings were built around a small meadow amongst a forest of mature Douglas fir trees, with the intention of providing a focus for family gatherings, yet still insuring the family and their friend's privacy. The Camp was approached with the idea of making it appear to be a traditional Forest Service ranger station-the kind you might find at the end of a long road or at a wilderness airstrip.
